Xanadusian in Peridot Necklace • Xanadu collection

"And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills,
Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree;
And here were forests ancient as the hills,
Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.”

In 1797 the poet Coleridge sat down to write  Kubla Khan, where in the most melodic way he describes a fantastical fictional pleasure dome in mythical Xanadu. This poem is what inspired my collection Xanadu, with designs envisioned from its rich imagery as well as themes of romanticism and opium poppies.

Here is a focal made from a solid sterling silver cast of my own sculpture, reimagined for this collection as a dweller of the mystical city. She has been enhanced with a bright green peridot. The pendant has a good weight to it, and a bail at the back. It will come on a belcher chain as pictured, but can also be very easily put on a chain of your own choosing.
