The piece pictured is unset yet so that it may be set in your custom ring size, but it is the very piece you will be getting. It's been posed unset over a hand so you can get the idea.
A pearlescent hand in glowing glass triumphantly clutches the stem of a prize rose in a field of flashing green. There is victory, true - but one cannot miss the drops of blood that have been spilled to clasp this trophy - for no pain, no gain. No guys, no glory. No rose without a thorn.
The imagery and meaning of this piece is one very dear to my heart and this design one of my first specifically made for enamel. I've made an IGTV episode about this in fact - sneak off to watch it here.
About This Ring
This listing is for the vitreous enamel focal gemstone pictured to be set in a ring in your custom size. These photos do not to justice to the intense flash and colour-play you see in real life when you shift the piece this way and that. it has depth and texture and glow. The hue of the skin is truly pearly, with warm translucent hints, while the background flashes with incredible green fire. All to the tune of that bright silver outline searing the design each time it catches the light.
The handmade gemstone will be set in sterling silver into an oversized marquis with a little lip, and with a ring mounted on a double-ring band (see example pictured). Please use your imagination somewhat, and the pictured set examples, to see in your head how it would look like set in silver (it will look more widthful on the finger, and lose a couple of mm round the edges to the setting)
As this is a miniature unique artwork, it comes signed with my mark and dated on the reverse. Vitreous Enamels become very collectable and more precious with time.
It's also possible to have this made into a necklace for you instead - just let me know in the 'message' section on checkout.

What Is Enamel? Enamel is essentially melted coloured glass. In this technique used here - known as cloisonne - Fine silver wires were bent into shape to form an outline, which was then filled with several layers of coloured glass. Each layer of glass is fired to very high temperature inside a kiln till it liquefies, before a subsequent layer is laid. Each piece has as many as ten layers, each requiring individual firings. The lengthy process results in the creation of a manmade gemstone, with an image that has depth, luminance and texture. Days have gone into the creation of this piece. Being glass, it is more durable than most gemstones out there and we have unearthed ancient enamels from millenia ago that have stood the test of time - but to allow this to become an heirloom (or join you in your pyramid) employ usual precautions when wearing handmade jewelry - no shocks, drops or chemicals.
